Win a Samsung 2View Camera
Every time my family and I went out for any type of activity whether a simple lunch out or a trip out of town, the first thing that occupies my backpack is my good old digital camera to capture every moment that me, my wife and our 2-year old son Charles will share.
Problem is our camera for 5 years has been “behaving unusually” lately and only gets clear pictures indoors. I went to the service center and the verdict is I need to replace the lens that would cost me more than P3000. What?! I could get a brand new camera for that amount. So my hunt for a new camera is on.
Through the help of Google, I came to know the Sam sung 2View Camera series which is comprised of the ST700, PL170, PL120. The ser ies offers the latest in Samsung’s point-and-shoot innovation, which is the dual LCD screen feature found at the front side and back side of the came ra. This is perfect for my family since we tend to ask assistance from strangers just for us to have a souvenir family picture.
A built in “Child Mode” feature is available, where you ca n download or create your own animation to keep your kids’ smiling and entertained, a s you take interesting photos of them. Say goodbye to bored baby pictures!
It also has a “Jump Shot” feature, which offers a visual count down in its front screen that tells you exactly when to jump before taking three fast shots of you and your friends. Say goodbye to failed jumps!
I am now getting a little excited since I think I just found the camera that I am looking for--- digital buddy that will capture every happy moments of my family for years to come.
Now here’s a good news for those people who like me is in a look out for a digital camera. You can actually get one Samsung 2View Camera for FREE. Yes, for FREE! Here’s how:
1. Like and Share the Samsung Camera fan page to your friends.
2. Type “Win Samsung 2View Cameras by liking and sharing @Samsung Cameras PH” in your status message box. Don’t forget to tag the Samsung Camera fan page!
3. All tagged entries will be raffled off, where two (2) lucky fans get a chance to win a Samsung 2View Camera - (ST500)! Promo Period is from May 15 - May 30, 2011.

Do you think you have a Whapakk Pose?
I remember back in college, I often encounter a dilemma going to school not because I have failed to review for our quiz or finish my assignment. I don't do homework at home. I do it in our school library. I review my notes while on board a jeepney on my way home or going to school. That's the normal life for a working student like me.
My issue then is the fact that I only have two pairs of pants, a few shirts to go along with my Chucks. Back then, I was always on a hunt for GF-material prospects that will be my wife after seven years. I am not vain. I just want to look good in the few options I have in our cabinet. That's why I spend a little more time in front of the mirror and do my astig pogi pose.
Nowadays, they call it the whapakk pose. And if you think you one that can get some attention, I have a good news for you. SanMig Strong Ice has just launched the Whapakk Pose Promo where you can win cases of SanMig Strong Ice and other exciting prizes like jackets and shotgunnators.
The contest is open to Philippine residents aged 18 years old and above. Participants need to have an account in Facebook and "Like" the San Mig Strong Ice Fan Page to join. With a bottle or can of SanMig Strong Ice, do that whapakk pose and it could be your way to a fun-filled drinking spree with your barkada.
Visit the official website of SanMig Strong Ice for more details.

Show me your oldest photo contest
I found this cool contest by Yugatech in cooperation with i-DigiWorld just this morning and made me pause for a few minutes reminiscing of the past. I am just a sucker of anything retro and oldies.
The reason being is that they are asking contestants to share the oldest photo they can find where they are included. The prize to the grand winner is a 14-megapixel GE X5 digital camera Here's my entry:
This contest runs until September 30. Just post your photo in your blog or any photo sharing site and leave the link HERE. Follow i-DigiWorld on Twitter or Facebook.

| This is me doing my "I Have a Dream" speech during the graduation rites of the San Miguel Kindergarten Batch '81 in Pasig City. I can barely breath because of the tightly looped bow tie on my neck and the smell and weight of 1-kilo Sampaguita given to me by my mother, ninang and Titas. As indicated on my diploma, the event was held on May 9, 1981. |

Win Special Prizes from Philippine Star
Yesterday, I thought I would witness a miracle.
Nope. I did not see a sick man walked away from his wheelchair or saw Maegan Fox in person. I was referring about an almost upset win by my UE Red Warriors over UAAP depending champs Ateneo Blue Eagles.
You see, the Warriors are like sick men nowadays after loosing key big men in their line-up this year. While, the Eagles are as hot as Maegan! Three minutes left in the game and the game is tied until the men in red started to loose their steam and the blue jerseys continues to soars with a series of baskets.
Sigh! Anyways, here's a contest for all UAAP and NCAA fans! Guys, you really need to prove that you are a certified fan win exciting prizes. All you have to do is to wear your team color with pride and share a photo of your wackiest UAAP and NCAA moment! Grab a partner (male and female tandem) and be part of the scene. Capture the moment by sending your photo to marketing@philstar.com.
For the complete mechanics, visit www.philstar.com.

Win autographed copy of "Pacific Rims" by Rafe Bartholomew
For me, basketball is the next best thing discovered by man next to television.
My first toy was a plastic basketball worth Php 5. I was rushed for treatments twice after sustaining broken limbs in separate incidents playing basketball but never regretted both accidents. I still look up to Sen. Robert Jaworski Sr. My well-kept treasure is my Charles Barkley collection and I even named my son after this NBA hall-of-famer.
To say that I am a basketball fan is an understatement. I lost count of how many family events, meet-ups with friends and even dates with my then-GF now my wife Leah I skipped just to stay home and watch an important basketball game on TV--- UAAP, PBA, NBA... name it. I have marked them in red on my calendar.
This may sound a little exaggerated but you can go and ask my wife.
Anyways, enough of this lengthy introduction for a promo being conducted by National Bookstore FB fan page. Here's what they posted in their page:
Send us any basketball themed photo of yourself or a loved one for a chance to get an autographed copy of "Pacific Rims" by Rafe Bartholomew! The top 3 photos with the most "likes" by the end of the voting period and 2 "NBS Choice" entries will win!
Some examples:
1. Wearing your favorite basketball jersey
2. Playing basketball with your... friends
3. Twirling a basketball
4. Reading a memoir of your favorite player or coach
5. Your child learning to play using a toy basketball court
6. You and your favorite basketball player
Entries must be sent to contest@nationalbookstore.com.ph by August 12, 12 noon. Deadline of voting is on August 20, 12 noon. Good luck!
Rafe is an American author who stayed in the Philippine just to write about Filipinos fascination with the game of basketball. Just a little trivia. He acted as one of the American who Sunshine Dizon forced to be the father of her child in GMA 7's Bakekang.

Oishi Gourmet Picks Photo Contest
When I was in grade school, one of my favorite snacks during recess are those curls and sticks in a small pack that are bought in sari-sari stores for only one peso.
I really miss those stuff --- Rin Bee, Poms Poms, Chiz It and of course, Oishi prawn crackers. Actually, they did not really go but instead they evolved into munchies in bigger sizes.
One example is Oishi's new products called Gourmet Picks in Sea Salt, Wasabi and Kim chi flavor. Honestly I haven't tried any of them yet but will definitely have a bite s o on since there is an exciting photo contest that Oishi is running until September 7, 2010 where winners can win iPad, Samsung Omnia, PS3 and other exciting prizes!
Well, the requirement is you need to have their product in the photo and needs to follow the different themes. Deadline for every theme is every two weeks.

How to Win Php 5000 with 260 Words

Last Saturday, I accompanied my wife to claim her prize Php 5000 worth of SM gift certificates. I should be the one receiving the GCs since I thought I have a better essay and entry to the My City, My SM photo essay contest.
I can't believe it, in 260 words along with 8 photos she got 5K. I even researched online to make my essay much much better than hers. But I just end up being her escort while she shops using her GC. Actually, she promised to get me something from it but I have to wait until Father's Day.
My wife's entry is simple but heartfelt so maybe that's the reason why she won. Tell me what you think, her winning entry is posted in www.philstar.com.
By the way, the contest is still ongoing. I'll just re-post the mechanics that can also be found along with the winner of the week every Sunday in Philippine Star:
