You see, he has learned his first danced moves while listening to Jason Derulo's hit In My Head. I even burned a CD of the music video so we can watch it anytime he wants. Now, what we only thought can happen in our dreams can turn into a reality.
Channel V wants you to meet Mr. Derulo in person this July. Five (5) lucky winners along with a friend will be given this chance if you'll correctly answer the question found in Channel V official website.
Hurry, you only have until July 16 to figure out the correct response!
Also, I want to thank all the Channel V peeps for granting my request last Father's Day during my favorite program LOOP. What really made me very thankful was an email from them saying that they'll be sending me a Technomarine watch for the chosen request! Cool! That's why I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this JDerulo contest :-)
So if you also want to give your authentic Chucks a new look, you can have it done at the Chucks Art Lab. Plus you can also win cool prizes by joining in the games at the venue. And if you feel like saying something for the whole world to know, you can do it in the Converse Freedom Wall. (O, baka may gustong mag-propose sa GF nila dyan? o kaya makipag-break. That's a creative way of doing it)
And of course, there will be a FREE concert with some of the hottest band today: Callalily, Silent Sanctuary, Kenyo and Sugarfree promises to rock the night away! If you have questions regarding the event, you can post in the comment section of Araneta Center's Multiply site.
Now for those who want to join, let me ask you this question? What would you pick as a grand prize, the chance to meet our Pambansang Kamao Manny Pacquaio or Php 20,000 in cold cash?
Hmm... actually, you need not to choose because both prizes will be given to the grand winner along with other cool stuff in the Alaxan Search for the Toughest Job Philippines.
All you have to do is go to the link above and register and tell the people of the world why your job is the toughest of 'em all. If you feel not joining, as I promise, you'll get a freebie from alaxan via coupon they'll be sending through email.

2. It will feature the tunes of music genius Andrew Lloyd Webber based on “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats” by T. S. Eliot.
3. I could watch it with my wife, who happens to be one of Lea Salonga's biggest fan for FREE. Well, her mom named her after her idol. (So, there is also a possibility that we will tag along my mom-in-law since she also adores Lea)

Actually, I still don't want to wear 'em since I've been reserving it for a "special" event like out-of-town trips, overnight get together with friends, etc. But I can't find a clean pair last week so I finally use 'em. Yah, I did not wash 'em but I made sure to iron them first to kill any living organism hiding in the singit-singit of the boxer.
Why am I telling you this? I actually don't know but I think it might be a good segue to this post:

I remember during my years in grade school, I envied this boy from another section because he has this trick that no matter I tried to practice and imitate, i always end up with a sour face.
He is an awesome pen spinner! He can spin a pen or a pencil using his fingers even with his eyes closed. I was really amaze. Actually until now since I was not able to learn the skill.
I wonder where he is now. Just want to share my "try and try until you succeed" experience
After three entries, I finally won in the joint contest of Philippine Star and National Bookstore "My Favorite Book" Contest.
My entry "What to Expect When She's Expecting" was published yesterday (June 19) and I want to thank them for picking my entry. I consider it as a Father's Day gift from God. Actually, I already got the best gift a father can ever have--- my son Charles.
Well, I was really hoping to win rather than expecting since my entry is about fatherhood. And it did! Aside form the Php 5000 worth of NBS GC that I won, I also have a chance to win in the Top 8 entries to be awarded at the end of the year. Top 3 entries will receive Php 50,000, Php 30,000 and Php 20,000 in cash and prizes while the other five honorable mention will get Php 5,000 each. All Top 8 winners will also get a cellphone each courtesy of Globe Handyphone.
You to can win in this contest that will run until December 26, 2010. Visit Philippine Star for the complete mechanics.
Hi there guys! Apologies for the long "rest"
No thanks to the week-long internet problems that we had with Globe here at Mandaluyong area. It felt like I was living under the rock. I was able to check my emails and this blog through Smartbro prepaid but not enough time and load to browse and post online contests to share to all my readers.
And now, I'm back and will definitely post some of my finds within the day (unless we would again experience intermittent internet connection, Globe have mercy!)
To start off, I am posting the announcement of Manila Bulletin regarding the delay of posting the winners list for the month of May in connection to their Write an Essay, Win a Samsung Netbook contest.
Due to the number of entries, 557 all in all, the winners will be finally revealed this coming Thursday, June 24. And I will surely post it on my blog as soon as I grab a copy of the issue.
Btw, they are already accepting entries for the month of June and the question is:
What one modern gadget can't you live without and why?
Same mechanics as last month. The deadline for this one is on July 10 and winners will be announced on July 17 (hopefully, on time this time)
Grand winner will win one (1) Samsung netbook while the runner-up will win a Samsung printer.

It's that time of year once again when Big D becomes generous. No, I'm not talking about Father's Day.
It's Dunkin Donuts Day on June 19 where kids aged 3-12 years old can get a FREE donut at participating DD outlets nationwide. But you have to bring your kids from 2-3 pm only since it will only be a one-hour treat only.
But wait, there's more (sometime I do think that I have a career in Home TV shopping)
DD also has another promo that will only be available on May 19 and 20 (Toycon at Mega on the same dates). Get 6 FREE Choco sticks for every purchase of a dozen donuts.

Thinking of a nice treat for your dad on Father's Day?
Well, how would you like to give him a special premium Brothers Wagyu Burger? It's not everyday that his doctor would allow him to indulge himself to a flame-grilled 100% Wagyu Beef with farm fresh tomatoes and lettuce on Kaiser bun with French fries on the side.
Umm...hmmm! But wait, there's more!
If you dine-in with your dad at any Brothers Burger branch nationwide from June 18-20, your father will be envied by other dads with his FREE limited-edition Brothers Burger Cap as a special reward in his honor (guys, I'm just typing as is what the PR is saying)
I'm sure my wife would like to treat me to BB this coming Sunday? I just want to see how the cap looks like :-)

If my memory serves me right, I learned to tell time when I was five years old. The only time I know then was 10:30 pm.
Well, when I was young the only thing that matters is my weekly dose of WWF (yes, not yet WWE) and the mayhem of pro wrestling every Wednesday evening. Until now, I still watch the brawls at Jack TV but I kinda got loss with the sked so I often end up catching the replays instead.
Anyways, so much for the long segue. Here's the thing: Kids Watch Central is giving away three (3) cool wristwatches for your little ones of lucky readers of Animetric's World.
Just go to the blog and answer the question "How important is teaching time management to kids and what’s the best tip that you can share to other moms regarding teaching your child time management?" by posting a reply to the comments section.
Kindly include your full name and e-mail address and you also need to be a follower of the blog so your entry will be considered.
Who wants to be a millionaire?
No, I am not promoting Bossing Vic Sotto's TV game show. I'm actually asking you guys if you want to attend a FREE whole-day training seminar entitled (say this line ala-He Man) "Be A Multi-Millionaire By Using the Most Money Management System in the World"
Trainer/ speaker John Calub says that he'll be offering the session, which is valued at Php 8000 per participant, for FREE as a way if paying it forward for the blessings and success he received through the years.
He also claims that in 2007, his attendees in a paid seminar all went on to become multi-millionaires after using the techniques they learned from him.
Hmmm... too good to be true? Why not give it a try since it's FREE naman. The event will be held at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Rembrandt in Tomas Morato Q.C. on June 19 and July 3. There is also another session to be held in Iloilo on July 17.
To register, just visit www.moneymagnetseminar.com.

The third installment of the Twilight Saga will be shown in the Philippines at the end of the month so a lot of people, especially the fans of the series like my wife and sis-in-law, are looking for just about any movie tie-in promotions available.
To start the ball rolling for what will be an Eclipse-mania in the coming weeks, Dunkin Donut is coming out with Eclipse collectible tot bags for Php 20 each when you buy a dozen donut. Could have been a better promo if this is for FREE, right?
Well, this is still expected to be a hit to the hardcore fans of Edward and Bella. Promo is good until June 30, 2010.
Apologies if the image on this post is a bit unclear 'coz i just scanned it from a newspaper.
Last Saturday, I accompanied my wife to claim her prize Php 5000 worth of SM gift certificates. I should be the one receiving the GCs since I thought I have a better essay and entry to the My City, My SM photo essay contest.
I can't believe it, in 260 words along with 8 photos she got 5K. I even researched online to make my essay much much better than hers. But I just end up being her escort while she shops using her GC. Actually, she promised to get me something from it but I have to wait until Father's Day.
My wife's entry is simple but heartfelt so maybe that's the reason why she won. Tell me what you think, her winning entry is posted in www.philstar.com.
By the way, the contest is still ongoing. I'll just re-post the mechanics that can also be found along with the winner of the week every Sunday in Philippine Star:
Let us know why you love your city and why you love SM and get a chance to win P5,000 worth of SM Gift Cards. Simply send an e-mail of your photo essay to email@example.com (underscore after Star) or write to us at the following addresses: the Lifestyle section, The Philippine STAR at R. Oca Jr. and Railroad Streets, Port Area, Manila or The Publicity Department, SM Retail, Inc. Building C SM Corporate Office at JW Diokno Avenue, Pasay City.
You can also join My City, My SM’s special category using a camera phone and get a chance to win one of six Sony Ericsson phones — five C50 Cyber Shot phones with the famous smile shutter; and a Grand Prize, the Sony Vivaz that introduces HD video capabilities in the portfolio.
Winners may claim their prize at SM Corporate Offices, Building C Publicity Department, J.W. Diokno Blvd., Mall of Asia Complex Pasay City and look for Ms. Rachell Pineda and Ms. Jhai Jara.
Updates: FREE rides for both MRT and LRT as per www.journal.com.ph.
Last week, I posted about an event organized by Eveready in SM Mall of Asia on June 12. It turns out that it is a big celebration for the 110th Anniversary of Eveready.
Aside from the contest and games in the venue where participants can win exciting prizes, there will be a FREE concert featuring Sugarfree and Above Zero.
But I think, the best thing about the occasion is the "good deed" that the people from Eveready will be offering to the public: FREE Jeepney Rides in selected areas in Metro Manila and some provinces. You can visit Boy Kuripot for the complete schedule of the FREE rides.
Please note that there will only be twenty (20) commissioned jeepneys for the event and sked of FREE LRT and MRT rides is only from 7AM - 9AM and 5PM - 7PM and applicable to all the 13 stations.

Do you want to write for the Philippine Star?
Well if you are interested, there is an open call for writers this coming Saturday, June 12 at Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati from 1 pm to 7 pm.
All you need to do is to bring a sample of your work (min of 500 words and max 1500 words) and you'll be tested via on-the-spot writing session by Supreme, a special section every Saturday edition of PS. Btw, Tim Yap is currently the Editor and Creative Director of Supreme.
I might drop by Dusit Thani this Saturday so kitakits na lang to my readers who will be there as well.
To those who are having second thoughts of jumping in, I would highly recommend joining in this event for those who want to have career in writing in the future. Even if you don;t make it, it will be a good start to be exposed in such activities and you might even meet new friends who share your interests and ides.
Plus, PS pays good. I should know since I've been a contributor for their Entertainment/ Lifestyle section for years. But I'll tell you, it's not the TF that matters. The feeling of seeing your work being published on a major newspaper is priceless.
