I am back!

Do you know a Laging Handang Bayani?

I have been very busy with work lately that this is just my second post in this blog this month.  We'll we have this huge occasion happening in Cebu next week and the pre-production as nerve-wracking as the actual event.

I have lost count of the days that I came home with my son already sleeping.  Poor wifey... I can only imagine the "running around and wrestling" she and our 1-year old son went through before he finally decides to sleep.  Me and my wife are tag team partners in juts about anything, but most especially in taking care of our son.  And for one week, she will have to do things at home alone (actually with little reinforcement our son's yaya).

So I can only promise her that after our event, we'll take a much deserve break somewhere where "work" is non existence.  I know my wife can do a great job even without me 'coz he is a laging handang bayani.

I Love Being a Teacher because...

This essay writing contest is exclusive for teachers, both from public and private schools, who are currently teaching in the Philippines. Also you should be 22-65 years old. So definitely I am not qualified even if I make a career shift into teaching since I am just 21... hehe.

Seriously, this is a great contest and you should encourage all the teachers you know because they definitely have a lot of stories to tell. This is also a tribute of sort to these heroes that are often portrayed as "titser na nagbebenta ng longgonisa" or "si mam na namamalo"

We have three teachers in the family, all are my in-laws, and I will definitely ask them to consider this contest.

I found this cool contest by Yugatech in cooperation with i-DigiWorld just this morning and made me pause for a few minutes reminiscing of the past. I am just a sucker of anything retro and oldies.

The reason being is that they are asking contestants to share the oldest photo they can find where they are included. The prize to the grand winner is a 14-megapixel GE X5 digital camera Here's my entry:

This is me doing my "I Have a Dream" speech during the graduation rites of the San Miguel Kindergarten Batch '81 in Pasig City. I can barely breath because of the tightly looped bow tie on my neck and the smell and weight of 1-kilo Sampaguita given to me by my mother, ninang and Titas. As indicated on my diploma, the event was held on May 9, 1981.
