Does your Kumare deserve to Win?
I was so lazy to go to work one morning that I found myself lying like a dead wood on the sofa while channel surfing the TV.
I was so lazy that the length of intervals of me changing the channel using the remote control is every almost 10 seconds.
I was so lazy that I when the RC fell down on the floor, I did not bother picking it up.
Then there was Kumare Klub on TV 5. The new morning show, which airs every weekdays at 7:00 am, that offers an hour of rich information and solutions for mothers’ dilemmas at home plus do-it-yourself tips and health information for moms and children. It stars the trio of Amy Perez, Cristine Bersola and Chiqui Roa Puno. Among the three, the last Chiqui was the one who made me lift my lazy ass off the sofa.
Chiqui has this Chuiqui Chiqui Dance Dance portion where she teaches a group of moms in the set, which viewers can follow popular and latest dance steps. It's like ala-Billy Banks or Richard Simmons workout Pinoy-style. And I am not ashamed to admit that Chiqui teached me how to dougie.
Other great segments in the show includes the nominate your kumare giveaway where TV viewers are invited to send a letter to the show regarding a kumare who they think deserves to win a surprise gift--- shopping spree, a complete make-over, vacation treat and others.
Now, if you think you have a kumare who deserves to be a queen for a day. Send an email to kumareklub@tv5.com.ph and indicate why she should be picked along with your name and contact details.

How to Join ABS-CBN's The Price is Right
A decade ago, I almost won a brand new car from ABC 5's Wheel of Fortune hosted by the artist formerly known as Rustom Padilla. Back then, I already had a clue that there is indeed a "Gandanghari" within his hunky physique. He was really nice during the taping of the show and had small talks with him after he found out that I work at VIVA, his home studio. I did three episodes with him which were all aired in December 2000.
Anyways, I can still remember the taste of sweet victory after I solved the jackpot puzzles MURO AMI (Daily round) and HANDCUFF (Weekly round) and the agony of defeat after consecutive Bankrupts in the wheel in the monthly finals where only two equally determined guys keeps me away from a sparkling red Nissan Sentra.
I end up going home with a pearly white rice cooker to add up to my Mini Bar set and Entertainment showcase that I won in the previous two shows.
Today, I feel like joining another TV game show that will be launched by ABS-CBN this coming February. The Kapamilya network will bring back the world's longest running game show (since it was ABC 5 who first made a local version with Dawn Zulueta as the game master) to the Philippines' boob tube: The Price is Right.
For interested studio contestants, the audition will start on January 10 and 11 (9:00 am) at the ABS-CBN Center Road, Mother Ignacia Street in Quezon City as per their TV ads.
The show which will be hosted by Ms. Kris Aquino and is said to be fitted against TV 5's Willing Willie is also looking for talents for the show. Here are the details for those interested:
For `The Price is Right´ Models:
* 18-25 years old
* Must be good in dancing
* Male at least 5'8" in height
* Female at least 5'5" in height
For the On-cam Voice Over Announcer:
* Male 18-35 years old
* Funny and with pleasing personality
Bring your full body and close-up photos on the said date mentioned above.

How to join Panahon Ko 'To Text Promo
Back in the late 90's, me and my former employees at Video City main office would spend lunch and break time answering a quiz-type trivia mind benders in Excel files circulating over the internet.
Well, eventually I would create my own "Jologs" trivia game. I even almost published a book called "Who wants to be a Jologs" after I got a deal (verbally) from a publisher but a two-year overseas work was that tempting and I dropped the whole thing.
Today, I know I still have the manuscript in our attic (somewhere hidden between my comic book collections and basketball trading cards). Why am I talking about this? Well, just happen to catch an episode of ABS-CBN's latest game show Panahon Ko "To. Too bad, they don't have an open call for contestants because I would live to try my luck and stored knowledge for this one.
Well, home viewers can still join in the text promo where the show is giving away as much as Php 20,000 daily. Just text PKT answer to the question of the day. I'm just surprise that they will only run this promo until July 23, 2010 since the show has great potentials.
Btw, the show is hosted by Billy Joe Crawford and Luis Manzano. Would have been nice if they include one certified Jologs to butt in from time to time, right?
