The city government will be giving away tickets for a FREE live stream event for the biggest boxing match of the century to be held at the oval of Rizal High School, once the record-holder as the largest high school in the world in terms of enrolled students.

How to get the tickets? Start collecting recyclable materials and bring them at the Pasig City Hall (GAD Wellness Center area) from April 29 to May 2 (9am to 4pm only) and exchange them for event passes. One ticket for every stack of plastic bottles (at least 3 pcs) or old news papers.

This is definitely one great program of Pasig City as part of their Clean and Green campaign. This is not only to support our Pambansang Kamao in his fight but also an initiative to fight polution in our environment. 

FREE tickets to the PBA game on Christmas Day

Attention basketball fanatics of all ages!

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is giving away FREE tickets for their December 25 schedule at the MOA Arena in Pasay City.

All General Admission tickets for the semifinals game between Rain or Shine and Alaska will be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis on Christmas. Tip-off is at 4:15 pm.

Watch Pacquiao - Marquez 4 at SM Cinemas

Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao being the first eight-division world champion while Juan Manuel Marquez III, on the other hand, is the greatest Mexican boxers of all-time for many analysts. He is the current WBO light-welterweight champion and has won seven world titles in four different boxing weight classes.

The first fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez, who at that time held both the WBA and IBF Featherweight titles, happened way back in 2004 at the MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas. Pacquiao knocked Márquez down three times in the first round, but the battle went the distance, the pair couldn't be separated by the judges and the fight ended in a draw after 12 rounds. The decision sparked controversy, which outraged both camps. 

On March 15, 2008, a rematch called “Unfinished Business” was held at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Pacquiao won via split decision which earned him  the WBC Super Featherweight and The Ring Super Featherweight titles, making him the first Filipino and Asian to become a four-division world champion, a fighter who won world titles in four different weight divisions.  “It was a very hard-fought fight and much more exciting than the first one," Marquez said.

Like the previous match, the decision of the judges spurred a 3rd bout which was held on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pacquiao won the fight via majority decision. Pacquiao’s victory was also controversial one.

Now it's time to shed doubt over who the best fighter is as both boxers are aiming for knockout. On December 9, the 4th fight will be held in Mexico City. Be one of the first to watch a fight that would most probably bring a closure to one of the greatest boxing rivalries in history!

It's beginning to look a lot like Chinese New Year!

Well, I had pansit bihon for breakfast and I saw a group of girls playing Chinese garter on my way to work this morning.  Yesterday, I had a meeting with Chinese gave me three chocolate bars (I hope it does not mean I love you since I am no longer available and she's in her 60's) which caught me off guard and think for awhile what I can give in return. I check my bag and found these options: (a) mentos, (b) oil film, (c) unused ballpen with a logo of a pharmaceutical company on it and (d) an ID lace that I should have used months ago.

In the end, I decided to just say thank you and smile as sweet as the chocolates she gave.

Then I saw this big print ad in The Philippine Star today about the 6th Spring Film Festival from January 20 - 29, 2012.  It will be FREE admission to the public. Make sure to be there at the Shangrila Cineplex two (2) hours before the film, for tickets run out so fast!
